FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –
The No. 4 Nova Southeastern women's basketball team finishes up a three-game stretch on the road and has their final out-of-conference road matchup of the regular season on Saturday, taking on Palm Beach Atlantic in West Palm Beach, Fla., at 2 p.m.

The Sharks (11-0, 3-0 SSC) extended their program-record winning streak on Wednesday night at Lynn, pushing what was a six-point halftime lead to 38 at one point in the second half, and winning 84-53. The second 20 minutes featured stark differences in shooting: 70 percent for NSU and 25.8 percent for Lynn. From the 3-point line, the Sharks were 8-of-11 in the second half, while the Fighting Knights were 0-for-9.

Sophomore Taylor Buie (Puyallup, Wash.) had 16 of her 18 points after the break, including three 3-pointers in the span of 2:55, leading the Sharks in scoring for the third straight game and fifth time this season. She is an even 50 percent from behind the arc on the season (37 of 74). Amanda Burakoski (Sr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) had 17 points, including 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, while Jasmine Wilkins (Sr., Miami) notched her third double-double of the season and eighth of her career with 14 points (on a perfect 6-of-6 from the field) and 10 boards against the Fighting Knights.

Approaching a career milestone for the Sharks is Danielle Robinson (Jr., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), who is 25 points away from becoming just the fifth 1,000-point scorer in women's history. Also, on Wednesday, her 3-pointer at Lynn broke a tie with Meixandra Porter, putting Robinson all alone in second place all-time in career 3's.

Palm Beach Atlantic (7-11) already has had 11 games against Sunshine State Conference opponents, going 3-8 in those contests. They defeated Lynn twice, and Florida Southern on Dec. 14, 70-53. The Sailfish also upset then-No. 24 Shaw on Dec. 20, 75-65. Since the holiday break, the team has gone 2-1, with the loss coming in their last game, 74-47 to Barry on Wednesday.

The Sailfish are led by newcomer Kasie Parker, a transfer from St. Joseph's University. She ranks 52nd in the nation in scoring at 18.2 points a game, and her 3.4 steals per contest is 11th best in DII. Another newcomer, Jaz Green, a grad student from Illinois State, is next in scoring at 10.9 points and is the top rebounder on the squad at 7.1.

The Sharks swept both games against the Sailfish last year and have won 18 of the 21 in the all-time series. In the season opener on Nov. 9, Porter set NSU school records for points (36) and 3-pointers (9-of-13) in a 97-57 win. Then, in the FIT classic in Melbourne, Fla. on Dec. 30, NSU won 78-51 with four in double digits, led by Burakoski with 15. The Sharks have won the last five in the series, and 16 of the last 17. The last PBA win was 57-53 on Feb. 7, 2009 in Fort Lauderdale.

Six women's squads remain undefeated in DII: the three teams ranked ahead of NSU in the USA Today Coaches Poll – No. 1 Bentley (13-0), No. 2 Gannon (15-0) and No. 3 Emporia State (15-0) – along with two squads that won on Thursday night, No. 5 Colorado Mesa (13-0) and No. 8 Harding (13-0). Colorado Mesa plays again on Friday, while NSU and the other four teams compete on Saturday.

Tipoff from the Rubin Arena, at 2 p.m., will be live streamed by PBA here, and the NSU broadcast can be found here. PBA will also offer live stats, here.
